what is ifs? 

 

Have you ever said “A part of me feels like…?” If the answer is “yes” you are already speaking for your parts without realizing it!

We all toggle between our parts every day, though most of us cannot distinguish between the parts we play and our true authenticity.  That’s where Internal Family Systems comes in!

Internal Family Systems, or “IFS”, is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping a client recognize their internal “parts” and begin to approach them with curiosity and compassion rather than anger and frustration.

The grounding assumption is that there are no bad parts, only parts forced into bad roles.

When a client learns how to access their most innate, authentic essence, what we call “Self” in IFS lingo, they can then heal their wounded parts and bring balance and harmony to their internal system.

I am so excited for you to begin the transformative and truly healing journey into your Internal Family System!

My role as your coach is to gently guide you to explore the parts of yourself that ask for attention during our sessions.

IFS is a very intuitive process and your parts will lead us to understand their roles during our sessions.

The point of IFS is not to judge, bypass or destroy any parts as there is no such thing as a “bad part.” Rather, the goal is to show all of your parts curiosity and compassion from your highest, most authentic Self.

I started working with IFS as a patient and it literally transformed my life.

Through IFS I learned to have love and compassion for my parts, which in turn settled my nervous system and shifted my perspective about things that formerly triggered my fear and anxiety.

In 2022 I became certified in IFS-informed therapy in order to integrate IFS into my coaching and guided meditation practices.

I am passionate about helping my clients identify and speak for their wonderful and often complicated internal family systems in order to live a beautiful, integrated life.
